Making sound

1. Sound moves through what medium?

Liquid?

2. Briefly describe how a microphone works, in particular what does it gather and what does it produce? 
A microphone has small membrane that vibrates, it also has a mchanism that translates moovements of the membrane into electrical signals. When acoustical waves are translated into electrical waves by the micrphone. The higher the pressure the higher voltage, the lower the pressure the lower the voltage.
3. What unit is used to measure sample size?
 Measured in bits.
4. What unit is used to measure sampling rate?
 Measured in Hertz (Hz).
5. How does sound quality vary with sample size and sample rate.
If sample size is increased, the quality increases. 
increase sample rate it also increase the sample quality.
6. What is another name for sample size?
 Sample format.
7. From the information given which offers better quality sound, FM radio or AM radio?
FM radio has better quality sound.
8. Why not record all sound in extremely hight sample sizes and sample rates?
To much memory and space would be taken up.
